SCS Staff & Board
CSPD Christian School Principal's Diploma (OCSAA)
It is a pleasure to teach at a school which is centred around Jesus Christ. Surrounded by a dedicated and passionate staff, it is rewarding to see our students grow and mature in all areas of life. “But those who wait on the Lord will find new strength. They will fly high on wings like eagles. They will run and not grow weary. They will walk and not faint.” Isaiah 40:31. As we rely on God and encourage each other, we will see the students reach their full potential and fulfill God’s plan for their lives.
Bachelor of Education (University of Toronto, specialist in music)
I often tell my students that I have the best job because I get to spend my days with them. What a privilege it is to be given the opportunity to help these little ones discover how much they are loved by their Creator, and how limitless is their potential because they are “fearfully and wonderfully made.” (from Psalm 139:14)
Bachelor of Education (Tyndale University)
It is an honour to teach in a school where core values revolve around faith in Christ and each day is an opportunity to share the message of the gospel with my students. As a kindergarten teacher, there is no greater pleasure than to introduce them to the understanding that there is a God who loves them unconditionally. Working alongside other passionate Christian teachers and parents is such an inspiration as we collaborate to provide a great educational experience.
SCS places the Lord Jesus Christ at the centre of a child’s education. I love that I am able to share Christ’s love with the children and direct their hearts toward Him. Jesus said, ‘Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.’ - Matthew 19:14. I also cherish the opportunity to teach with colleagues who also want their work to be eternally significant.
Tyndale University College - Bachelor of Education July 2014
I attended SCS as a student for grades four through eight and it was from this experience that I understand the value of instilling a Christian worldview in children from a young age. It is an honour to serve in a community that has been such an integral part of my life. As teachers, we get to partner with students’ parents and our Heavenly Father in order to train up these children in the ways of the Lord. I consider it a privilege to teach at Stouffville Christian School, an environment where my primary mandate is to share Christ’s love with my students.
I am so grateful to God for allowing me to work at a job that I love, in a place that I can feel supported and encouraged. I am passionate about this profession, not only because time spent on science and math will educate the students I teach, but because I am able to share God’s love and introduce them to Jesus. This is all possible at SCS and I appreciate my collegues who share the same passion.
I have taught at SCS since 2011 with my first being a grade 5/6 all boys class. I was born in Manila, Philippines and I love learning about culture and languages. I am passionate about literacy and enjoy cultivating a love of reading in my students. Interactive math investigations are vital for sharpening numeracy skills in my class. My greatest joy in serving at SCS is to hear students interact with the Bible and pray with their hearts open to the Lord.
I have always thought of my classroom, as my sanctuary; it is a place where I can worship God with the work of my hands. Having this outlook and encouraging my students to have this perspective also, helps to remind us that we have been created to bring glory to God and to please Him in all that we do.
Honours Bachelor of Arts (Trent University)
Master of Science in Psychology (Trent University)
I love that at Stouffville Christian School, we have the opportunity to nurture the whole child; academically, spiritually, and emotionally. As an educator, this is very meaningful. I have taught piano for 18 years, in addition to 4 years of classroom music teaching. It is a pleasure to teach music at SCS!
Bachelor of Recreation and Leisure Studies (Brock University)
As a Christian school alumni I am grateful for a small school environment that launched me confidently into a public high school. This gave me my first experience to compete athletically, which helped me to pursue athletics in high school and as a varsity athlete in university. For the past nine years, I have been teaching physical education, coaching, and coordinating tournaments for ACSI. I feel privileged to introduce various sports to the students of SCS to help them gain confidence in elementary school and beyond. It's been exciting to see some alumni compete at a national level in the sports I introduced to them!
My journey at SCS started when my own children attended this school. I experienced first-hand the importance of Christian education and how it impacted my children. I credit their spiritual, intellectual and social development to the quality of education that they received at SCS. I am so privileged to work alongside a group of dedicated teachers in order to provide the same valuable experiences that my children received. I love being able to work with children to provide each one with the same positive experience and to instill the love of Jesus in their lives.
Special Education 1 and 2
I love being the Special Education Resource teacher! The first quote reminds me why I do what I do and the second, how I do it: ``I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Your works are wonderful, I know that full well.`` Psalm 139:14. And this... “Every student can learn. Just not on the same day or in the same way.” George Evans
Stouffville Christian School operates as a not-for-profit organization led by a Board of Directors. The Board is made up of parents, alumni parents, and community members that bring specific skills to their positions. They are each devoted to their faith in Christ and work together to help the school provide a quality Christ-centred education to elementary students. The Board is responsible for overseeing all areas of marketing, finances, and strategic planning for the future, in addition to setting and monitoring all the school’s policies. The group works closely with the Principal who is tasked to provide leadership to the staff and oversee all of the day-to-day operations of the school.
