SCS Staff & Board

At Stouffville Christian School we know that raising children to be a Godly leaders is important to you.

To do that, your child needs Godly influence and teaching inside and outside of the home. We believe that education should be centered around Christ. We understand that each child is a gift from God. Therefore, we aim to help our students live out biblical values, learn how to work hard in all they do and treat teachers and fellow students with respect.

We do this through a vibrant biblical curriculum, exemplary educational standards, and advanced extracurricular programs.

BPE Bachelor of Physical Education (McMaster)
CSPD Christian School Principal's Diploma (OCSAA)

It is a pleasure to teach at a school which is centred around Jesus Christ. Surrounded by a dedicated and passionate staff, it is rewarding to see our students grow and mature in all areas of life. “But those who wait on the Lord will find new strength. They will fly high on wings like eagles. They will run and not grow weary. They will walk and not faint.” Isaiah 40:31. As we rely on God and encourage each other, we will see the students reach their full potential and fulfill God’s plan for their lives.

M. Van Lochem, OCT

Bachelor of Arts (York University)
Bachelor of Education (Tyndale University)

It is an honour to teach in a school where core values revolve around faith in Christ and each day is an opportunity to share the message of the gospel with my students. As a kindergarten teacher, there is no greater pleasure than to introduce them to the understanding that there is a God who loves them unconditionally. Working alongside other passionate Christian teachers and parents is such an inspiration as we collaborate to provide a great educational experience.

J. Choo

Grades 1 & 2

Bachelor of Science Degree, Elementary Education (University of Northwestern)

SCS places the Lord Jesus Christ at the centre of a child’s education. I love that I am able to share Christ’s love with the children and direct their hearts toward Him. Jesus said, ‘Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.’ - Matthew 19:14. I also cherish the opportunity to teach with colleagues who also want their work to be eternally significant.

Bachelor of Music (Western University)
Bachelor of Education (York University)

I want my classroom to be a safe place for students to feel free to learn about themselves, their peers, and the world around them. I love how at Stouffville Christian School I can partner with students’ parents to help facilitate the growth and development of my students academically, socially, physically, and spiritually. I desire to teach and model God’s love to my students and help them become true followers of Christ. It is a pleasure to be teaching at SCS!

J. Ho, OCT

Grade 5 & 6

Master of Teaching (University of Toronto, OISE)
Bachelor of Kinesiology (University of Toronto)

It is my joy and privilege to be partnering with parents and staff at SCS to train up students in the infallible and living Word of God. My students are always encouraged to ask questions, any questions in any subjects, because a curious mind fosters lifelong learning. I also value learning that happens outside the classroom where students are retaining new skills and interacting with one another in sports, field trips or extracurriculars. It is my hope that through these experiences, we will grow to give thanks to our Lord and appreciate all things that are given by Him.

C. Ludwig-Dempsey, OCT

Bachelor of Religious Education (London Baptist Bible College)
Bachelor of Arts (Western University)
Bachelor of Education (Trent University)
Reading Specialist

I have always thought of my classroom, as my sanctuary; it is a place where I can worship God with the work of my hands. Having this outlook and encouraging my students to have this perspective also, helps to remind us that we have been created to bring glory to God and to please Him in all that we do.

Phys. Ed Teacher

Certificate in Christian Studies (Northwest Baptist Bible College)
Bachelor of Recreation and Leisure Studies (Brock University)

As a Christian school alumni I am grateful for a small school environment that launched me confidently into a public high school. This gave me my first experience to compete athletically, which helped me to pursue athletics in high school and as a varsity athlete in university. For the past nine years, I have been teaching physical education, coaching, and coordinating tournaments for ACSI. I feel privileged to introduce various sports to the students of SCS to help them gain confidence in elementary school and beyond. It's been exciting to see some alumni compete at a national level in the sports I introduced to them!

L. Sawires

French Teacher

Notre Dame des apôrtres French Catholic School
Faculty of Medicine (University of Assiut)

I graduated from Notre dame des Aportres, a Catholic School and my passion for French began there. I find it very rewarding and worth the effort of studying the language. French has helped me to understand the scriptures as I found studying the Bible and devotions in French gives a deep, profound, and touching meaning that is not always found in the English language. The atmosphere which SCS creates through Christian teachers makes it a great place to work and share my love of French with my students. I love to have students move throughout my classes as I’ve learned through my training how beneficial it is for their health.

B. Li

Bachelor of Nursing (University of Toronto)

My journey at SCS started when my own children attended this school. I experienced first-hand the importance of Christian education and how it impacted my children. I credit their spiritual, intellectual and social development to the quality of education that they received at SCS. I am so privileged to work alongside a group of dedicated teachers in order to provide the same valuable experiences that my children received. I love being able to work with children to provide each one with the same positive experience and to instill the love of Jesus in their lives.

K. Murray, OCT

Special Education Resource

Higher diploma in Education (Johannesburg College of Education)
Special Education 1 and 2

I love being the Special Education Resource teacher! The first quote reminds me why I do what I do and the second, how I do it: ``I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Your works are wonderful, I know that full well.`` Psalm 139:14. And this... “Every student can learn. Just not on the same day or in the same way.” George Evans

L. Kroon

Office Administrator

I have worked at SCS for over 20 years now and it feels like home. I love the sense of community we have here, and the fact that I have the privledge of meeting all the families because of my job in the front office. My children attended here and I am so thankful to have been able to send them to a Christ-centred school.
